Touchy settings

Our cooktop settings change to off or high and we aren™€™t sure we understand why. It will be sizzling or bubbling along nicely and I turn my back and it™€™s on high or turned off. Happens consistently. The dealer told us to use the lock setting, but that™€™s not what lock setting does. It™€™s as if a drop of water or oil hits the control and changes it. We are not comfortable with this. Too touchy. Too many spoiled meals. Would not recommend this cooktop.

We spent $2000 for this fancy cooktop only to have it die after 25 months.. out of warranty and it would have been $1500 to fix it lol.. we trashed it and bought a different cooktop. How can people, in good conscience make products that are clearly not tested or built properly. A lot of other people seem to have issues with this product as well

I like this cooktop but not as much as I loved my old Profile cooktop. The triple burner on my old one, that went up to 12 inches was wonderful. I also don't like the Cafe controls in the front center. My old Profile cooktop had them on the right side which made it possible to cook closer to me instead of having to reach to the back to stir, etc. All of the lights indicating that the burners are on or the controls are locked are too dim. My old one had brighter lights. And the sound indicating that the controls are locked is too soft (and I'm not hard of hearing). I wanted to get my old cooktop fixed, but you stopped making the electronic component I needed. Since only the GE fit the opening in my counter, in I decided to get another GE. It's ok but not wonderful.

Cannot Recommend - Intermittent Issues...

CASE 15504648 - I am (or was) loyal to GE CAFE Brand This is my 2nd FULL Kitchen upgrade, those who have suited their kitchen with CAFE appliances would understand. The Look is High End and the Performance is High End! Two months into use and my front left burner has commenced intermittently cutting power, sometimes turning off by itself. I have taken a video of this, as typical with intermittent issues - when the technician arrives, products seem to not produce the results you reported. I should say that every other burner works to expectation, its JUST THIS BURNER! The authorized repair service group was unfamiliar with induction and this product, reported my pans as potentially not ferrous ENOUGH and GE has called them out for not being induction compliant... For what its worth I was using Hexclad cookware and works phenomenally on every other burner on the stove. To challenge this assertion, the Chantel cookware that GE gave me promotionally on the first CAFE Induction Range I purchased did not boil water for 10 minutes - had to use the rear (equal wattage) burner on that particular meal. Perhaps its when there are more than on burner in use, perhaps its when there are more than one burner on the stove and not in use. Who knows, however all that GE could do was to extend my warranty. I would recommend NOT purchasing this product due to this issue and GE's subsequent response to a premium tier product (issue). This is a difficult recommendation based on my loyalty of the line, unfortunately I will start looking for a 30" replacement immediately, as currently I am down to two burners (and a warming burner). Please do note that extended warranty was offered - I took that as piece of mind and fully expect this problem to get worse. I might have this range long enough for this warranty to be executed. I also think its important to note that with an intermittent issue, it is difficult to replace or send technicians over and over to see something reported, for me however, it is difficult to miss a burner turning itself off or not boiling a pot of water when set to the highest setting. This is an unfortunate situation to suffer through and why I feel compelled to warn others over potential issues, and subsequent response. Buyers BEWARE!

I would NOT recommend this stove. Seems very cheaply made. Hard to keep clean. For the money it is not worth it. I'm not sure the air fryer works. It took as ling to cook potatoes as it does regularly to bake them. It's still under warranty. I'm concerned after ready several other reviews also disappointed with this stove. The knobs are dangerous because they are so big and if bumped easily turn on.

I've only had the cooktop for 3 days, but the first time I used it I noticed some light dots (as opposed to dark which is what they should all be). I also notice a circle. I used the cleaner that was recommended but it did not fix either problem. I filed a complaint with my salesman who submitted a request for someone to come check it out. I am waiting for a call and for someone to come.

Gap between glass and counter top.

Our only issue with this appliance is that by design, the frame supports the smooth top to the counter. Which is correct to keep the glass from holding the weight and breaking. but this leaves a 1/16" gap between the counter and the glass which when an over spill happens, the liquid will run down the smooth top thru the gap and it's impossible to clean and will eventually cause odors from the spoilage. The appliance should be designed with an edge trim to fill this gap in between. See my pics for explanation.

We love the fact that this cooktop has no knobs. Also love the two sync burners for a griddle. However, the surface is very delicate and after one week of use it has marks and discolorations. We have used the sample of cleaner that was included with the cooktop and it still has marks.

I do love my new Cafe cooktop but the timer and sound features are not loud enough. Also I wish the printing on the cooktop was a little brighter. I can't register my cooktop because the model number is underneath and the contractor has already installed it and I can't get to the bottom.

We haven't used this as of yet since it was just installed yesterday. It is very sleek and when installed in the granite, it makes the countertop look larger since there are no knobs to break the counter plane in two. Finishes our total cafe kitchen with grand style!
